Cozumel is a Mexican island that cruise ship passengers often visit. It’s known for its natural beauty and Mayan history. For those on a Western Caribbean cruise, it can be the ideal spot for a beach day. I found a great all-inclusive beach club called Nachi Cocom that offers a relaxing experience with good service.
Planning Your Beach Day
Booking Your Visit
To visit Nachi Cocom, you need to book your spot online. They have a website where you can make a reservation. You’ll need to pay a 20% deposit when you book. The rest of the payment is due when you arrive at the club. They only accept credit cards for the final payment.
Nachi Cocom limits the number of guests to 130 people each day. This means bookings are usually non-refundable. The main reasons they allow refunds are if a major storm like a hurricane forces them to close, or if your cruise ship can’t make it to Cozumel or changes its itinerary.
Because space is limited, especially during the busy cruise season from November to April, it’s a good idea to book as early as possible to guarantee your spot.
Getting to Nachi Cocom
Nachi Cocom is a private beach club, which means it’s not part of any cruise line’s organized excursions. You’ll need to arrange your own transportation. Luckily, the taxi system at the Cozumel pier is very efficient and easy to use.
Once you walk through the shops at the pier, you’ll find the main taxi area. There’s an official price list there that shows the cost based on how far you’re going and how many people are in your group.
When you arrive at the taxi hub, there’s usually someone there to answer questions and help keep things moving smoothly. This person makes sure passengers get to their destinations quickly.
All the taxi drivers I encountered spoke English, and they prefer to communicate in English. All prices are listed in US dollars, so you don’t need to worry about having Mexican pesos.
The ride to Nachi Cocom is quite short, only about 10 to 15 minutes. The cost for a taxi is $17 for 1 to 4 people, $23 for 5 people, and $34 for 6 to 8 people. These prices are the same for the return trip back to the pier.
When you’re ready to leave the beach club, just let the reception desk know at Nachi Cocom. They will call for a taxi, and one should arrive within minutes. This makes heading back to your ship very convenient.
About Nachi Cocom Beach Club
All-Inclusive Experience
Nachi Cocom operates strictly as an all-inclusive beach club. There’s no option to pay for food or drinks individually.
The daily cost is $69 per adult. For children aged 12 to 15, it’s $39. Younger children from 4 to 11 years old cost $19. Kids aged three and under can enter for free. The beach club stays open until 6:30 p.m. each day.
Your all-inclusive fee covers an open bar with a good variety of drinks. This includes different types of beer, soft drinks, bottled water, and a selection of cocktails. They are known for their tropical blended drinks. Of course, there’s also plenty of tequila available.
In addition to drinks, you’ll receive a full Mexican lunch. The meal includes appetizers, a salad, a main entree, and dessert. You can choose from the menu, and the selections are written in English, which is helpful.
It’s customary to tip your servers if you receive exceptional service. This is usually done before you leave, rather than after each round of drinks.
Beach Club Amenities
When you arrive at Nachi Cocom and settle your balance, someone will help you find a lounger chair. It’s a good idea to bring your own towel from the cruise ship, as they don’t provide them for free. You can then set up your spot for the day.
There are many different areas to choose from. Some lounge chairs are under the shade of palm trees or beachside palapas. Others are in the direct sun for those who want to soak up the rays. You can also find chairs by the pool, away from the sand.
Once you’re settled, your server will be happy to take your drink order. Lunch service typically begins at 11 a.m. Cozumel time. Keep in mind that ship time might be different, so pay attention to the local island time.
Lunch can be served at your lounge chair, or you can opt to eat at tables located under the main palapa. Some guests and regulars suggest ordering appetizers to enjoy beachside while you wait for your main meal, which is usually served at tables. This seems like a good strategy.
The menu offers many traditional Mexican dishes. You’ll also find some popular bar food options like chicken wings and nachos. Among the Mexican choices, the shrimp ceviche and fajitas are frequently mentioned as favorites.
Beyond relaxing on the beach or in a hammock, the club also features a swimming pool and a hot tub. The pool has swim-up bar access, so you can enjoy drinks without even getting out of the water. It’s a nice way to socialize and take a break from lounging.
Even though they limit the number of guests, the beach club has a good number of facilities. There are two sets of bathrooms, and I found them to be clean and well-maintained throughout my visit.
Optional Add-Ons
Paid Activities and Services
As you arrive at Nachi Cocom, they often greet you with sombreros and offer to take a welcome photo. This is a fun way to start your visit. Once you’re inside, you’re free to take as many personal photos as you like.
If you need to stay connected, Wi-Fi is available for an additional fee. However, you shouldn’t expect to find Wi-Fi service directly on the beach itself.
The photographer who takes the welcome picture might offer to sell you a copy when you leave. They don’t push too hard, so if you’re not interested, it’s easy to decline.
If the scenery is particularly beautiful, which it often is in Cozumel, the beach club offers professional photography services for hire, beyond the initial welcome shot.
Further down the beach, under the shade of the palm trees, there’s a small palapa that offers massage services. You can expect to pay around $75 for an hour-long massage or $40 for a 30-minute session.
They have a menu of services, so you can choose what suits you best. Perhaps a massage for tired feet or a classic neck, back, and shoulder treatment would be perfect after a day in the sun.
Water sports are also available from vendors located on the beach. You can try activities like parasailing or a banana boat ride.
For those interested in snorkeling, Nachi Cocom offers two daily tours. These tours usually take place in the morning, around 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. The cost is $38 per adult, $30 for children aged 12-15, and $25 for children aged 4-11.
The snorkeling tours are about one and a half hours long and include fins, a mask, and a new snorkel. There is also a small $2 National Park fee collected for these tours.
Final Thoughts on Cozumel
Nachi Cocom Beach Club is located just a short distance down the beach from another popular spot, Mr. Sancho’s Beach Club. They offer a very similar experience and are priced comparably.
However, due to Nachi Cocom’s policy of limiting guest numbers and not offering a pay-as-you-go option, many people find it to be a more peaceful and tranquil place to spend the day in Cozumel. I found it to be a great spot for relaxation.
Even though the atmosphere is very laid-back, and you might be tempted to just relax in a hammock, don’t forget to order one last cold beer to enjoy on your taxi ride back to the pier. It’s a nice way to extend the feeling of vacation.
When visiting Cozumel with family, I often look for places that offer a variety of activities but also a chance for everyone to unwind. Finding a spot like Nachi Cocom that balances good service, quality food and drinks, and a relaxed environment is key for a memorable cruise stop. It’s important to remember that island time can be different from ship time, so checking the local schedule for meals and activities is always a good idea, especially when you have little ones.
I hope this guide helps you plan your own wonderful beach escape in Cozumel in 2026. Enjoy your trip!
