My husband Michael and I always dreamed of a honeymoon that felt just as special as our actual wedding. The dry season, from November to April, offers the most consistently beautiful weather, making it ideal for enjoying all the island has to offer.

We found the quiet stillness of the Maldives incredibly restorative. Even with the kids, Michael and I could find moments of quiet solitude, a rare treat.

Turks and Caicos offers a Caribbean escape with some of the most stunning beaches we’ve ever seen. Grace Bay Beach is consistently ranked among the world’s best, and for good reason. The sand is impossibly soft and white, and the water is a dazzling shade of turquoise.

This destination feels a bit more understated and peaceful than some other popular Caribbean spots. It’s perfect for couples looking for relaxation and a sense of intimacy without being overwhelmed by crowds.

Expect miles of powdery white sand and crystal-clear, calm waters perfect for swimming and sunbathing. The clarity of the water is simply breathtaking.

Positano, in particular, is a stunning sight, with its pastel-colored houses cascading down to the water.

Beyond the breathtaking views, the towns offer charming streets to wander, delicious food to savor, and historical sites to explore. We enjoyed indulging in fresh seafood and local wines, a perfect culinary complement to the scenery.

Iconic destinations include Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello, each offering its own unique charm and spectacular vistas. Each town has a distinct character waiting to be discovered.

From ziplining through the canopy and white-water rafting to exploring cloud forests and spotting exotic wildlife like monkeys and sloths, the opportunities for adventure are endless. The natural hot springs are also a perfect way to unwind after a day of exploration.

You’ll find diverse landscapes, from volcanic regions to coastal areas, with abundant opportunities for wildlife viewing and outdoor activities. The country truly embraces its motto, “Pura Vida.”

We took a guided hike through the rainforest, and seeing Ethan’s face light up when a monkey swung through the trees was priceless. It’s those family moments, even during a trip meant for romantic escapes, that make travel so rewarding.

Iceland’s Natural Wonders

Iceland, the land of fire and ice, offers a truly unique honeymoon experience for adventurous couples. Its dramatic landscapes, from geysers and glaciers to powerful waterfalls and black sand beaches, are unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Witnessing the Northern Lights is an incredibly romantic and magical experience to share. Driving the Golden Circle and exploring the stunning natural formations provides constant awe and wonder. It’s a place that makes you feel small in the best possible way.

Visiting Iceland in 2026

For optimal access to all areas and pleasant weather, the summer months of June to August are ideal. However, for the chance to see the Northern Lights, the dark winter months from late September to early April offer the best viewing opportunities.

While it was just Michael and I on this particular trip, I could easily imagine bringing the kids to see the glaciers and geysers. It’s a place that sparks curiosity in all ages.
