I allowed myself a few treats, including shrimp cocktail, Caesar salad, three lobsters, prime rib, and a decadent chocolate melting cake. It was a meal to remember, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bite.
Evening Entertainment and Ship Exploration
Instead of attending the scheduled show, Flick!, I decided to spend the evening exploring the ship and seeing what was happening. This particular Carnival ship has truly captured my heart; I find its layout and atmosphere incredibly appealing. The musical performances throughout the ship, from the violinists in the main atrium to the soloists in various lounges, add a wonderful ambiance. The cruise director, Dr. E, is also exceptionally talented and adds to the overall positive experience.
I also checked on drink prices, as a question came up about the cost of beer. A bottle of Budweiser is $6.25, and a Dos Equis is $5.75. Hard apple cider is priced at $6.50. Later in the evening, during turndown service, a VIFP gift was delivered to my room: a cozy travel blanket featuring the Carnival logo. Belize is a tender port, meaning we’ll take a smaller boat from the main ship to shore, a ride that takes about 20 minutes. The excursion is scheduled to start bright and early, so it’s time to get some rest and prepare for another day of adventure. The thought of exploring the famous barrier reef is incredibly exciting.
It’s always a good idea to pack light for tender ports, as you’ll be moving between boats. Having a waterproof bag for your essentials can be very handy, especially if there’s any chance of sea spray. I’m looking forward to the unique experience of approaching Belize via tender and then heading out to see the underwater wonders. This part of the trip promises to be quite different from our day in Cozumel, offering a new set of experiences.
