If you’re stopping in Cozumel on a cruise, you’ll want to know about the best spots for a beach day. Paradise Beach is a place I’ve visited many times and always found it offers a good mix of amenities and value. It’s a private resort that you book directly, not through cruise lines like Royal Caribbean. While it’s a well-known spot, it provides a fun day out with plenty to do.

The most popular way to enjoy Paradise Beach is with their all-inclusive pass. This covers unlimited food, drinks, and access to both the beach and the pool for one set price. It really simplifies things when you’re looking for a hassle-free day.
For 2026, the pricing typically runs around $67 for adults, $47 for teens (12-17), and $41 for kids (5-11). Young children under five are usually free. This option is great because you don’t have to worry about tracking individual costs for every meal or drink you have.
A La Carte Day Pass
If you prefer more flexibility or don’t plan to eat or drink a lot, there’s an a la carte day pass. It costs a nominal fee, like $10 per person, but requires a minimum spend of $10 per person on food and drinks to use the facilities. This was my go-to for years, especially if I wanted to explore Cozumel first and then head to the beach for a few hours to cool off.
This option works well if you’re not a big drinker or if your kids don’t typically consume enough to make an all-inclusive worth it. However, you can’t make a reservation for this pass, so you’d need to hope there’s space available when you arrive.

The Massive Pool
One of the standout features at Paradise Beach is its enormous pool. It’s heated, which is a huge plus, especially if you’re visiting during cooler months. Many other beach resorts in Cozumel have much smaller pools that can feel quite chilly.
You’ll find various depths in the pool, from shallow seating areas perfect for lounging to deeper sections for swimming. There are even in-water loungers, making it a very comfortable place to spend your day. I often prefer being by the pool myself; the staff will even bring drinks right to your spot at the edge.
Sprawling Beach Area
Beyond the pool lies a large sandy beach. It’s equipped with plenty of loungers and umbrellas, so you can find a spot to relax right by the sea. The sand is generally soft, making it a pleasant place to walk or set up your spot for the day.
Fun Beach Inflatables
Paradise Beach is well known for its in-water inflatables, which are a big hit with guests of all ages, especially children. These floating structures offer a fun challenge with opportunities to climb, jump, and splash around. It’s an extra cost, often around $18 per person, but it provides hours of entertainment. I remember my kids, Lily and Ethan, had a blast on these during one of our visits, even if getting up on them felt a bit more challenging for me than it used to!
Bars and Facilities
There are a couple of bars located throughout the resort. While there isn’t a swim-up bar, you’ll find a convenient bar near the pool area, as well as beach bars that sometimes feature swings. Mexican Fare Favorites
I always expect good Mexican food when I’m in Mexico, and Paradise Beach generally delivers. They have a large menu with a wide variety of classic Mexican dishes. You can find tacos, burritos, fajitas, and quesadillas, all prepared fresh.
The guacamole is typically made fresh daily, not from a jar, and their salsas have a nice kick. While we’ve tried many items, I find their tacos to be a real highlight. There’s even a dedicated taco truck situated between the pool and beach that serves up fantastic tacos, which you can order directly from your waiter or from the truck itself.
Quality Beverages
Paradise Beach also prides itself on the quality of its liquors. You’ll find well-known brands, along with a selection of Mexican beers. Unlike some other beach pass locations where the alcohol can be quite harsh, the spirits here are smoother. This makes enjoying a cocktail or two much more pleasant.
Getting There
Reaching Paradise Beach from the Cozumel cruise port is quite easy and typically takes about 10 minutes by taxi. When you disembark, head to the official taxi stand. Just tell the attendant you’d like to go to Paradise Beach. Taxis are readily available at the resort to take you back to the port, and the staff can help call one if needed.
Visitor Experience
When you arrive, you’ll be shown to available chairs on a first-come, first-served basis. Two waiters are usually assigned to your section to take food and drink orders. You can move freely between the pool and the beach, and your assigned waiters will be able to assist you wherever you choose to settle.
It’s important to note that Paradise Beach is a popular destination and can get busy. It has a maximum capacity to ensure safety and comfort, but it’s not typically a secluded, private experience. However, for families, couples, or groups looking for a day filled with activities and good service, it’s a solid choice. The staff are generally very attentive, with many having worked there for years, and the owner’s presence often contributes to a welcoming atmosphere.
Comparing Options
Nachi Cocom
Nachi Cocom is known for its much lower capacity, which means it’s generally less crowded. However, its pool is quite small and can be cold, and the liquor selection isn’t as extensive as Paradise Beach. You might also find fewer kid-friendly activities available in the water.
Mr. Sanchos
Mr. Sanchos offers ocean floats and multiple pools, some with swim-up bars. On a past visit, the WiFi was unreliable, and I found the food to be just okay. While it has good amenities, Paradise Beach often wins out for me in overall food quality and the pool experience.
